Take a look at these invaluable tips from our plumbing contractors!

Tip 1: Learn the layout.

You must know how to control the main source of water in your home or professional facility. This way, when a plumbing problem pops up, you can switch off the source to prevent water from invading your home. The main shut-off valve is often situated at the curb. An access point may be provided at the sidewalk.

Tip 2: Never flush anything down the toilet, EXCEPT for toilet paper.

Remind household members to refrain from flushing paper towels, sanitary napkins or other types of paper. Dense materials can obstruct the sewer pipe, causing your toilet to stop up.

Tip 3: What should you do if you’re experiencing low water pressure?

Low water pressure may be caused by the accumulation of calcium, otherwise known as lime scale, which is a by-product of hard water and gravel in the faucet screen. To address calcium buildup, detach the faucet and clean it with vinegar to dissolve the lime scale.

To eliminate gravel, you must clean the screen. Detach the head by rotating at the point of water flow. Once it has been disassembled, clear the inside screen from gravel and calcium so that water can flow freely. Then reassemble. We recommend that you repeat this process every three to four months.
